Obviously, the first step in any modern adventure is to set up a blog - so here it is.
With a little over a week to go, final preparations are underway. Duffy is going to stay with neighbors, Nick is going to stay at the house, Dave is going to take us to the airport. Everything is coming together with only a few minor hiccups - like my 401k is now a 200.5 k!
Hopefully, we will be able to update the blog while we are traveling. The intention is to include lots of photo's to show you where we are in a timely fashion. That's the plan anyway. I hope we can live up to it.
Meanwhile a new hiccup has popped up - my dive trip to the Great Detached Reef has fallen through. I got an e-mail yesterday to tell me that they have sold the boat to the World Health Organization for a research program in the Solomon Islands. So looks like I'm going to have to take a more conventional Great Barrier Reef trip. More on this later.
